Panel paintings in Acryl

In the eighties I created and exhibited paintings in acryl and gouache, sometimes with 3-dimensional additions, in Den Haag, Nijmegen and Berg en Dal in a style leaning to “Magic Realism”. Later I developed my work to a style I labelled “Associative Painting”.

Starting from a basic idea: a thought, a dream or a picture seen by accidence, new layers, new objects are added by associative thoughts to tell the story. That is the reason I worked in very transparent layers of acrylic paint. The backlash in working this way is that the application of more and more layers is limited. At a certain point the total result ends in disaster! That is why I was constantly searching for new paths.
